Hi, Ignacio,
4) but from the GUI, opening the file through '/File/Open data/User file'
I obtain the error
xmlParseFile failed on /home/ignacio/gretl/file.dat
If I call the gui from a terminal, gretl is reporting this error on the
terminal screen:
/home/ignacio/gretl/file.dat:1: parser error : Start tag expected, '<' not
found
xt yt
^
Some how Gretl is clever (in the other ways to open the file), to do an
Import before presenting data to us. You cannot open in GUI a non Gretl
file (only if you can import it).
Going with the GUI, you /File/Open data/Import/text_CVS the file opens
correctly.
In my OpenSUSE 12.2 64bit, I cannot even list the file in the Open User
file menu, because is not .gdt.
I did rename the file to file.gdt and observed the same error you got.
Best Regards,
Hélio Guilherme
