Yes, I can see that.
Dear Ignacio and Allin, we discussed the possibility to use .po files
for doc translations some time ago:

Our friend Ivan Sopov already had built a config-file for po4a utility
that generates .pot and .po from the XML files. Please take a look
at the message:

There is a project "po4a" (po for anything) whose goal is
to help

I'll look into that.
I strongly agree with Ignacio and I believe that if we could pave a
better and easier way for translations we will translate more
documentation ;-)
