see what the relevant difference is between this case and the one you're
describing?
Not yet, it's not obvious. But the bug is not severe, I guess that
"print m" is better style than just "m" anyway, and it seems a valid
workaround.

I tested that today and it worked OK for me on XP.

one more thing :-) -- could it be that the 'run' command is echoed even
with echo off?
