loop issues

A loop like
loop for i=1..0
print "a"
end loop
is supposed to be skipped, whereas it halts the execution with the error
Loop count missing or invalid.

If it is not such a big work, could it be created an accessor to
retrieve the number of iterations after calling an iterative procedure
like mle?

Compilation breaks at R (rqfnb) plugin?

As you can see below, the compiler stops when making some R plugin (?).
I even compiled and installed R 2.7.0 to try to recover from this break.
