I've updated the libtool-related files in gretl CVS to libtool
version 2.2.6. You might see if that makes any difference.
Just some more information.
In the past, I have also been able to build Gnumeric on Mac OS X
Leopard and build a Gnumeric.app.
On Snow Leopard this now also fails with a message similar to that
with Gretl:
libtool: link: `/usr/X11/lib/libXrender.la' is not a valid libtool
archive
All broken. Haven't got a clue.
