It would be very nice if we had as many installers ready by the time we
release. The Windows installer shouldn't be a problem.
The *nix front is, as always, more diverse: the source tarball shouldn't
be a problem either, for obvious reasons. Package-wise, what we basically
want is a deb package and an rpm package.
I am regularly building and using HEAD on Debian testing, so when the
Debian package maintainer Dirk Eddelbuettel decides to package gretl for
unstable, things should work out of the box. I don't know if the debian
package is ok for the various flavours of Ubuntu --- I suppose it is, but
in case some of you folks using Ubuntu wants to provide a package, that'd
be nice to have as a sourceforge download. RPM-based distros, I don't
know. Allin normally provides a no-frills rpm, but if there's anyone out
there who uses Fedora/Mandriva/whatever who wants to help, please raise
your hand.
On the OSX front, Allin is to my knowledge the only person able to build
the dmg package. I tried once in the past, and failed miserably: actually
I wasn't even able to build from source. This is not surprising, given my
hopelessness on OSX. Is there anybody around who can help, so we can lift
at least the Mac package from Allin's shoulders?

I am using OpenSuse 10.2, and the rpm installs fine.
I don't have experience on build distro packages, but if you need I'll try.
I am currently having trouble with pdflatex for building documentation.
I am preparing the Portuguese documentation, but pdflatex can't find
some fonts, and the gretl-guide-pt.pdf appears with blank pages or
garbled text.
