Hi devel-list, here you are a list of TODOs I compiled while debugging the
current CVS version.
- Documenting command line options: some options defined in /lib/src/interact.c
are not documented in the "usage" function in /cli/gretlcli.c: these are the
-d, -w and -c options. What's their meaning?
- Man page: I think this needs some updating, and perhaps adding a man page for
the "gretlcli" command, documenting its own options.
- User guide:
- starting.tex: fix the section "The main window menus", accordingly with the
new menu structure
- functions.tex: fix the section about function packages, accordingly with the
new menu structure
- Documenting the "Alt-X" functionality
I think I can give a try to fix these (except maybe the last one, and with some
hints from you for what concerns the first one), if nobody is already working on
it.

Thanks, I'll need to check those.

I've done done this for the English version. It could do with
some improvement, but it is now in sync with the new menu
structure.

accordingly with the
new menu structure
- Documenting the "Alt-X" functionality
I think I can give a try to fix these (except maybe the last
one, and with some hints from you for what concerns the first
one), if nobody is already working on it.
I'll try to have a go at Alt-X.

Please have a look at the attached patch, it contains the minimal changes to
ensure consistence with the menus (of course more material could be added).
While testing the functions-related commands, I found a little annoyance in the
"Save function package" dialog box of the package editor: the pre-defined
location is /usr/local/share/gretl/functions (I'm using a locally compiled
version), but since I don't have write permission on that, if I click on OK, the
procedure aborts, and I loose all the information entered during the previous
stages. Is there a way to warn the user to change the target directory without
aborting the whole procedure? (I'm not really sure if this is related to gretl
or to the GTK infrastructure)

issue should be fixed now. I'll take a look at "download from
server" too.

This is now working, thanks.
I've tested the function packager a bit and I found a couple of strings that
should be marked for i18n:
fnsave.c:658: ltxt = g_strdup_printf("Help text for %s:", fnname);
fnsave.c:691: "Upload package to server on
save");
