Following Jack's post on bisection,
Function feval() does not appear anywehere with explanation: command
reference, function reference or in gretl-guide.pdf, hansl-primer.pdf.
It appears in gretl-ref.pdf page 210 in function names but with no
explanation.

This has only been recently documented, I guess you need to upgrade your
gretl version. I see it in the snapshot from May 10th.

Uhm, weird. It's in the online help but not in the pdf Reference. That's
weird, the pdf file should get updated automatically. I'll try to find
some time later today to see what's going on.
In related news: Allin has been working on a native root finder, using a
better numerical method than bisection):

The new function is in pretty good shape at this point, so I guess we'll
have it for 2019b.

On Windows I think a new snapshot doesn't mean a new pdf file if an old
one already exists. I often have to delete the old file manually to get
the current one to be downloaded by gretl.
(Perhaps cleanly uninstalling the previous gretl version would help, but
I usually skip that.)

Sorry guys, false alarm, I had missed that. The pdf file is built
correctly and "feval" is in there alright.
