In the model window select Edit/Modify model and remove a regresor, then the
new model is not estimated with its corresponding sample 1-1000, but with the
current sample 1001-2000.
In that situation (calling Modify model) you should now get a
dialog box asking if you want to restore the sample on which
the model was estimated. If Yes we go ahead; if No we abort
the Modify model procedure.
