Going to the start of the debate, What your statistical software says about you (to me): *Gretl*: there are two different types of users, 1) those who use *only* the GUI and many of them think gretl is not sophisticated enough for doing serious calculus, and 2) those (not many, indeed) who use the gretl scripting language (no yet registered as HANSL in the web page).
