Dear Gretl Team,
I started analyzing the function packages looking for possible
bugs/problems/misbehavior. The first round of tests is very simple: check
if there is the developer's contact mail and check if the sample script is
working fine. I chose a test order classifying them by the author of each
package because I think it will be easier contact them just once to talk
about the problems. The first author is... Allin :-)

I haven't supplied a contact email in my packages up till now. A
recent change is that an email address can be put into the .spec
file as such ("email = whatever").

It doesn't work if you use Gretl in Portuguese. Please try to change the
language from En to Pt_BR and try to run the sample script.

I see what you mean. Now why on earth would that be? I'll look into it.
Ah, I see. Nothing to do with almonreg in particular: it's yet
another instance of the decimal comma versus dot, this time in
reading a function package version number. That's now fixed in CVS
and snapshots. Thanks, I'm glad you found that bug.

As for my packages, you may want to know that SVAR is being heavily worked
on, and I plan to release 1.0 asap. However, since SVAR is an official
add-on, you may also want to skip it at this point if you don't have time
for it (it's considerably bigger and more complex than most other
packages). The same holds for gig, although I haven't worked on it for a
while (but I should!!!).
BTW, while we're on the subject: I have a set of hansl functions for
estimating BEKK models (one of the most popular variants of multivariate
GARCH models) which I've been wanting to make publicly available for a
while. Would you guys rather see this as an enhancement to gig, or as a
separate package?

FWIW, my first reaction ($0.02 worth) is that this (BEKK) would make more sense as a gig
enhancement rather than a separate package. That's not a strong opinion though.

The felogit sample script works OK here on Linux, running in pt_BR
with decimal comma as well as in English. It requires downloading a
data file from the Stata site: is that failing for you, Henrique?

OK, thanks for trying. Is this with the 32-bit Windows build, or
64-bit? And one more thing: could you try running gretl with the
--debug option? You can create a desktop launcher, but instead of
just
drive:\path-to\gretl.exe
make the target
drive:\pathto\gretl.exe --debug
Then we might learn a little more about the problem in the console
window that will open.

to load the "plugin": C:\Program Files\gretl\plugins\stata_import.dll
Unable to load "plugin" function" I get this one:
"Unable to find the input point of the procedure _ftelli64 in the
msvcrt.dll"
I think using the debug option offers little information this time :-( Take
a look at the png file attached.
